I am Besim Bilalli, an Associate Professor at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). I obtained my PhD in 2018 with the dissertation Learning the Impact of Data Pre-processing for Data Analysis, jointly awarded by UPC (Spain) and PUT (Poland). In 2023, I was awarded the Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral fellowship. My research focuses on data management and data engineering for data science. I have been involved in several technology transfer projects, including a World Health Organization (WHO) initiative to develop a data platform for Neglected Tropical Diseases and a malaria diagnosis project in collaboration with the Probitas Foundation. I currently participate in several national and international research projects and co-supervise PhD students. I also actively contribute to the research community by serving on program committees, reviewing for leading conferences and journals, and helping organize international academic events.
